BEATUTIES OF THE LESS KNOWN - Faro

Faro

I look out of my window to that Algarve that took my heart. The Algarve, not Allgarve. I smile and give  my hand to that lovely human being, With love and with passion. I let her to drag me through that city hidden by the noise of tourism. Everybody land in Faro, everybody leave without sensng it. Yet, it has everything to shine your days. It seems there is no beach, and yet it has the Ria Formosa that envolves the city and provides the most beautiful way to get there, From the whole Algarve. I recommend at least one go and one come back

And then it gives you the defense wall that hidden lovely quarters, and the tasteful shopping street which ends in that overwhelming down town. And it has the Priest Street, that ironically is called the Crime Street. And all that white that invades your eyes and your heart.

I cross it, I penetrate it. pulled by my own heart. Deep words  slide into my brain from that voice  (Jorge Palma - Deixa-me Rir,  Dá-me Lume) that echoed within those walls, many time before its spread on the radio. And i bring from my home someone from my soul (Pedro Abrunhosa - Quem Me Leva os Meus Fantasmas). I melt the life and the attitude of the North with the South. I get richer

I look out of my window to that Algarve, hidden by the ALLgarve. And again i smile feeling the beauty of the less known

BEAUTIES OF THE LESS KNOWN - Faro from nunocruz on Vimeo.

Sorrio e dou-lhe a mão, a ela, doce criatura.

Misturo a vida, misturo a atitude, do Norte e do Sul.

THE GREAT DIDAS - Life is a miracle

I have a friend, a special friend, the Great Didas Geologist.
Be born is always a miracle, a coincidence, but Didas saw, felt and incoporated that miracle in his instincts, due to the fragility  he lived when the flashlight crossed is mother and pull him out to our living world. As so, Didas cares little about tomorrow, live every moment with a unique pleasure, in every breath feels the air that crosses him, melt gently with the nature around, tastes calmly and completely the hearts that touch him. Doesn't feel the tomorrow, doesn't want tomorrows upseting todays, forcing him to lose those flavours those pleasures. He just need simple and basic things.

Everytime i meet him, he get me a smile on my face, give me back my well being, clean complication off my head and give me back the pleasure of every breath. I pleasantly invey him, and my soul is looking for him everytime to drink those kind of moments. Come along with me, following him to  two of the best geologic beaches of our Portugal and probably of the world (at least the world i know): Praia de Vale da Figueira e Praia da Carriagem in Western Algarve. The music (Fleet Foxes), he chooses, naturally.

DIDAS, THE GEOLOGIST - Amazing Portuguese Beaches from nunocruz on Vimeo.

Sempre que o encontro, arranca-me um sorriso, devolve-me o bem estar, descomplica-me a cabeça, e devolve-me o prazer de sentir profundamente o ar que respiro nessa cadencia interminável. Invejo-o saudavelmente.

THE WALK OF LIFE - Live on your dreams

Palma - Barcelona

And when everything seems to be lost, one day you will see the light shining on and you will know you have conquered it. We did it. But… what´s next?
We did it. I tis done. Some will exagerete the success. Others will try to diminuish the thing. The fucking markets will labbel a price (when this is the case) in your fronthead. But really, really it really doesn’t matter, because we were the ones that did the walk, that enjoyed and stumble along the track, gaining new departs for other dreams and knowledge for other ways that will come. And the claps, and fireworks in the kingdom, and the envys and the flattering, and all that “harmonic” social cocktail that always bursts out in these kind of occasions, that will not sum or subtract anything to the real achievement. Not at all. It has been our dream. Not theirs.

Only you can correctly evaluate your path, no one else.

Furthermore, the dream does not usually end when it is conquered. Most part of the times the ultimate dream is to keep it, ever after. If we can do it, we will have that fantastic thing of living the dream while dreaming. If not, the true value of the conquest vanishes with the time roll.

I slide with this feelings within the last journey of the UIM story, that take us to Barcelona. With the immortal Freddy Mercury, first with Queen (Bohemian Raphsody), then with Monserrat Caballé (the unavoidable Barcelona)

THE WALK OF LIFE - ...and be free from nunocruz on Vimeo.

THE WALK OF LIFE - Don't Give Up

Palma – Soller – Port de Soller
You dream, you learn, you love with passion your way, but the track of adventure is not empty of disadventure (otherwise it wouldn’ be na adventure). And then, when the horizon seems  not to be achievable, the willing of give up comes up. Sometimes with the realism that in those circumstances it is not possible, other times with the pessimism that the lack of self-confidence brings along or others with the lack of that naïf optimism that makes possible the impossible. In fact, i think that the commitments of every life are those that we were capable of not giving up. And most part of the times, it is enough to step aside, feel the pleasure and the love of the way without concentrating to much in the horizon, gaining the strength to proceed.
I reflect on this through the fantastic history of Soller and its impossible train (Ferrocarril de Soller) through the frightening Tramuntana (the difficult and amazing Mountains of Mallorca) that took them out of isolation and open the doors of development. The unbeatable will of the Soller people terminated with that isolation transforming the one day difficult journey in a smooth 2 hours trip (today only one hour), widening the possibilities of both the rich industry and the tourism. Amazed with that history, I stepped aside of the Creoula saga and lived the adventure of that train, with the old theme of Peter Gabriel (Don´t give up), which have a fantastic reality within our days (pay attention to the lyrics of the song) and a deep message to resist to give ups.
Rudyard Kipling said one day…
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.
Kisses and hugs. See ya next week

THE WALK OF LIFE - Don´t give up from nunocruz on Vimeo.
