THE ISC FAMILY - The Joy of the Work

ISC4, Porto Galinhas, Brasil

If there is one thing i feel proud of, that is the amazing friends that i have melted with in the In-Situ Testing world. I was lucky to be in the first conference superiorly organized by Paul Mayne and since then i haven´t miss any. I was even present in that "middle" conference ( i would say the ISC 1,5) in Bali. 9 papers and two session reports make it (at least for me) a sucessful participation.

More than that, what really makes me happy, it is not the papers, but the real good mood that one can live among all that fine, funny and Funtastic group of people, which i have never saw in any other conference. People from the field, just like me, a minor guy from the industry. I had the good fortune of meeting almost all the people i have learnt with:

Silvano Marchetti, Paola Monaco, Gianfranco Totani, Paul Mayne, Robertson & Campanella, Lacasse & Lunne, Powell & Uglow, Jamiolkowski, Foti, Lutenneger, Puppala, Kulhawy Martin Fahey, Lehane, Schnaid, Consoli, Schmertmann, Viana da Fonseca, Coutinho, among so many others.

And also those other friends i have made by sharing the joy of life: Carlos Rodrigues, Marcelo Devincenzi, Marcos Arroyo, Mike Long, Diego Marchetti, Luis Antoniutti, Alan McConnell, Wim, Edgar Odebrecht, Alessander Kormann, Eduardo Marques, again among so many others

which made richer the knowledge that flew in my brain. In fact, i´m not properly young anymore, but i still believe that the emotions are the fundamental thing for a sucessful life. I guess i will die thinking that way.

And Denise Powell, during the ISC2 in Porto (my sweet home town).put the cherry on the top of the cake, when baptized the greatest men institution that world ever saw: THE GANG of 4 (Tom Lunne, John Powell, Marcelito Devincenzi and myself)

And so, i feel happy for having the chance for presenting the post of today. I selected the music of the great Chico Buarque, which i think represents well the free spirit of ISCs. See if you agree.

I don´t know how it is going to be the future, especially because the world where i´m living seem completely out of  order, where the knowledge means less and less everyday. But, whatever it may happens, i am happy both with my (small) contribution to the in-situ testing domain and with the attention you have paid to me.

Many thanks for the drops of joy you always left in my soul.

I hope i have the chance of meeting you in ISC 5.

Kisses and hugs

P.S. I prepared a new site for you, where you may find everything of this life of mine (the JOB and the JOY) and all the movies organized by continents and countries in:

Enjoy it.

The Wonderful ISC (on site conferences) family from nunocruz on Vimeo.

...Carlos Rodrigues, Marcelo Devincenzi, Marcos Arroyo, Mike Long, Diego Marchetti, Luis Antoniutti, Alan McConnell, Wim, Edgar Odebrecht, Alessander Kormann, Eduardo Marques, outra vez, entre tantos outros.

Espero poder estar presente no próximo ISC.

P.S. Esp

Espero não defraudar

Grande Nuno!!!

One of the things that was most important for me during my stay in Portugal (12 years from today!) was the friends that I have made. Among then, you are one of my favorite guys. There is a brazilian singer/composer (I know you know him - Gonzaguinha) that has writen that a person is part of the several people that he/she has met during his/her life.....If this is true (and I think so...), you are one of those, that have made my life better...Thank you! It was good to see you again at Porto de Galinhas.
Best wishes!

Maravilhoso, como sempre. Ficamos viajando nestas viagens e curtindo os lugares e os amigos.
A musica poderia ter sido diferente.....

Obrigado. I´m sorry. Abraço

Thanks so much for your nice comment on me. It has been a good pleasure to such simple and honnest people like you are. Many thanks
